With history, humour and preferences of their own. A hard conversation goes well when the worker sees the person. That belief runs through every scenario we write, and it is where LyndaCare began.
People Tech Revolution
LyndaCare is made by People Tech Revolution, an Australian immersive learning and AI studio. We build rehearsal spaces for the moments in health and care work where words matter most, and we build them with the people who will use them.
Our work in health taught us a plain lesson. People do not learn hard conversations from a slide. They learn them by having them, somewhere safe, more than once.
Where this comes from
Before PTR, co-founder Leonie Sanderson led virtual reality work in aged care through The Ageing Revolution, a profit-for-purpose organisation that challenges ageism through storytelling, games, music and imagery, with older people at the centre.
LyndaCare carries those roots. The simulated people in our scenarios have full lives behind their opening line, because the worker who sees the life has the better conversation.
What is behind this
LyndaCare is new. The work it comes from is not. Every line here carries the place you can check it.
- QUT Design Lab ran Transforming Aged Care with Virtual Reality across six aged care facilities in Queensland and Victoria in 2021 and 2022, with Griffith, Melbourne, La Trobe and Monash. Leonie Sanderson managed the virtual reality work through The Ageing Revolution. research.qut.edu.au
- The trials left a free implementation toolkit on cost, safety, apps and space that any home can still pick up. research.qut.edu.au
- ABC News filmed a resident at Arcare Pimpama using a headset during the lockdowns, on 2 June 2022. abc.net.au
- A 2024 systematic review in the International Journal of Mental Health Nursing reports that virtual reality builds empathy in informal dementia caregivers through first person perspective taking, and that no controlled trials with group comparisons exist yet. onlinelibrary.wiley.com
- Outcome 2.9 of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards asks a provider to run a training system and to give workers regular competency based training. Actions 2.9.4 and 2.9.6, in force since 1 November 2025. agedcarequality.gov.au

LyndaCare has no aged care result of its own to report yet. When it has one, it will be published the same way, with the source beside it.
How we work
With educators
Aged care educators write and check every scenario and every checklist. If it would not survive their review, it does not ship.
With workers
Workers see their own record first, can contest it, and choose to take part. A tool people are forced onto teaches them to game it.
With older people in view
No older person is ever recorded or simulated from a real life. The fictional people we write get the dignity we want workers to practise.
